Finding a solid skincare routine can be a challenge, especially when traveling. Our bodies are stressed, we’re exposed to new environments, water, and pollutants – it’s the perfect recipe for a breakout. After years of experimenting and trying new products I finally have a skincare routine that is perfect for my dry, sensitive skin.

NOTE: You’ll see a lot of Torriden products in this routine – I discovered them while exploring Korea Town in Tokyo and bought them on a whim. Before adding them to my routine I had extremely dry skin around my mouth, under eyes, and brows – now my skin has never looked better. I also appreciate the brands mission, fragrance free products, and recyclable packaging. I highly recommend you give Torriden skincare a try.

AM Skincare Routine:

  1. Wash face with water
  2. Apply Torriden Dive In Toner, I prefer the Skin Booster version – which has a milkier consistency than the original Dive In toner, perfect for my dry skin – but if you have oily skin then the water-based standard toner might be a better fit.
  3. If my skin feels particularly dry, then I’ll apply the Torriden Dive-in Cream (Spring/Summer) or the Torriden Soothing Cream (Fall/Winter), it feels so smooth and luxurious, but it’s thick so it’s better for the colder months. If my skin feels hydrated, especially in places with humid weather, I’ve found just the Skin Booster toner to be all that I need.
  4. Apply sunscreen. I picked up a few that I really liked in Japan – I prefer mineral sunscreens with formulas that don’t have a massive whitecast: Dr.G Green Mild Up is my go-to as of now.

PM Skincare Routine:

  1. Wash face with oil cleanser, I haven’t found one that I love yet, but I typically cycle between these: Farmacy Clearly Clean (I prefer this to Green Clean because it doesn’t have fragrance), Cult-classic – DHC Cleansing Oil, and Banilla Co Cleansing Balm.
  2. Wash face with gentle cleanser, I really like the consistency of ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Cleanser,my skin doesn’t feel like it’s been overly stripped of moisture after using it. I’ve tried Cerave and Fresh’s Rose Cleanser – but this one wins over those for me.
  3. Apply Torriden Dive-in Skin Booster Toner
  4. Apply Torriden Dive-in Cream (Spring/Summer) or Torriden Soothing Cream (Fall/Winter).
  5. Apply Retinol or Exfoliate, I cycle days for this.

When traveling I like to pack a mist as well, something like: Evian, Avene, or for a skin boost I’ll use Tower28 SOS. These work well on airplanes or after walking outside on a hot day as a quick refresher. I’ll also have a small travel size Torriden Dive-in skin booster toner with me and a couple of cotton pads. Then I’ll use the Dr.G sun stick to reapply my sunscreen.
